The Comedy Brewers at the Lyric

Do you need a good laugh after a long week? Check out this high-octane improv show at The Lyric in Fort Collins. Similar to “Whose Line is it Anyway,” each performance is uniquely its own and will be made up on the spot with input from the audience. Check out the most seasoned comedians in town for a fast-paced, hysterical, and interactive show. Advance tickets start at $16 and will be raised to $20 at the door. The show kicks off at 8:00 PM and is scheduled for approximately an hour and a half.

Flashback Friday Movie Series: The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Where? 228 East 4th Street
When? June 14th

Join the Rialto Theatre in Loveland at 7:00 PM on Fridays for flashback films. Tickets are priced at $3 when purchased online, making this an affordable weekend activity for your crew. This Friday’s showing is of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Prop bags will be available at the door, so please don’t bring any outside props. The bags will include a party hat, glow stick, noise maker, a toilet paper roll, and a newspaper sheet. Rialto originally opened as a silent movie theater in 1920 and has since become Loveland’s premier performing arts venue, with nationally touring artists, comedians, and local groups showcasing their art on stage.

Loveland’s Night on the Town

On the 2nd Friday of each month, downtown Loveland hosts their ever-popular Night on the Town event. Each Friday is themed, with June’s being “Sweet Summer” as an official kickoff of the One Sweet Summer event series! Visitors will enjoy live entertainment on street corners and local businesses open later in the evening and offer seasonal food and drink specials, as well as discount promotions. Chalk artists, painters, and local musicians will keep the vibe high throughout the signature evening.

Juneteenth Celebration

When? June 14-16

It’s a weekend of celebration in Fort Collins, kicking off with Youth Night at the Cultural Enrichment Center. Youngsters will enjoy the game room, as well as outdoor film screenings and activities that are geared toward kids and teens ages 12 to 17. Friday will also feature a concert on the lawn at the Foothills Mall — with performances by Rolos Rios and Motown Revue. Saturday continues the party, with a community celebration featuring a black and brown-owned vendor market, as well as food trucks, live entertainment, face painting, and educational outreach opportunities. There will even be a TikTok dance party, so come ready to show off your best moves. Sunday caps off the weekend with Church on the Lawn. Everyone is invited to attend this lively gospel experience.

The Matrix: Outdoor Movie Series

The Lyric is a community hub in Fort Collins, boasting three indoor theaters and a towering outdoor movie screen. The lobby features a bar, a counter-service restaurant, a gift shop, and various arcade games. This weekend, watch The Matrix in the outdoor space at 9:00 PM. Adult tickets are priced at $12 and seniors get a $2 discount. Children’s tickets are set at $8. The whole family is sure to enjoy a summertime classic of watching an action-packed science fiction film in the great outdoors. If you can’t make this weekend’s movie, additional outdoor screenings this summer include Monty Python and The Holy Grail, Pulp Fiction, Barbie, and Fantastic Mr. Fox.

SUP Yoga

If you’ve always wanted to try your yoga poses on a stand-up paddle board, now is your chance! Rachel Dirks invites locals and visitors alike to participate in this one-and-a-half-hour class on the water. This unique combination of SUP and yoga is a unique way to spend your weekend and participants will paddle out from the yoga dock — no experience required! All levels of yogis and paddle boarders are welcome to participate. Friday’s class kicks off at 5:30 PM and runs through 7:00 PM. Sunday’s class has an earlier start time of 9:00 AM and class wraps up around 10:30 AM. This “Father’s Day” class includes an extra hour of board rental/free float time so you can enjoy quality time with pops.

Creative Writing Workshop with Olivia Chadha

Join Olivia Chadha as she puts on a workshop that teaches aspiring novelists to draft their first book or build their science fiction world. Olivia has won the Colorado Book Award and is set to release her newest piece of work, Fall of The Iron Gods. The workshop kicks off at 1:00 PM in person at the Old Town Library. Tickets are free but reservations are required to ensure that organizers know how many people plan on attending this event.

Father’s Day Market

Bring dad out to the Father’s Day Market at Baldwin Hardwoods this Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This free event will feature local makers, storewide sales, and a food and coffee truck on site to enjoy a Saturday morning sweet treat. Shop locally to find Dad the perfect gift or help him shop for slabs, lumber, and furniture for an upcoming project. Hensley Homes will be onsite for a tour of a tiny home and the BH team will be doing live woodworking tutorials and demonstrations.

Ren Fest Beer Fest

The Lyric is excited to host the Ren Fest Beer Fest on Saturday! This renaissance-themed event is in collaboration with Mythmaker Brewing and will feature 11 local breweries and one distillery, including Gilded Goat, Rally King, New Belgium, Loveland Aleworks, and Horse & Dragon. The fest will also feature live music, entertaining performances, and a costume contest! Patrons can enjoy unlimited 4-ounce pours with their price of admission — starting at $45. Not planning on drinking? Non-beer tickets are $20!

KRFC 88.9 FM’s 21st Birthday Bash

You won’t want to miss this party at Odell Brewing Company to celebrate KRFC 88.9 FM’s “birthday.” From noon to 7:30 PM, join in on this epic celebration filled with live music, food trucks, and even a youth area for the little ones. There will be seven artists lined up across two stages, including Earl Nelson & The Company, Heather Anne Lomax, Emma Zeck, and the Erica Brown Band capping off the evening on the main stage. This free all-ages and all-levels yoga class is kicking off on June 15th and will carry on each Saturday morning through the month of August. From 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, participate in Yoga Flow or opt for Gentle Yoga from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM — or do both! The first two Saturday classes will be taught by Mo Geraghty before switching to Resilient Soul for several weeks. Participants should bring their own yoga mat, water bottle, and any props. There is registration required for these events.

One World, One Family Exhibit

Where? 200 West Mountain Avenue

The main gallery opening of One World, One Family opened on Friday, June 7th. The exhibit will continue to be on display through September 21st, 2024. The exhibit is showcased in the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures, with tickets being priced at $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, and $1 for ages 4 to 12. Younger kiddos are admitted for free and members always get in free. The One World, One Family exhibit aims to honor the indigenous peoples around the world and provide education on their cultures. There are photographs and historical items from collections from John Lincoln Baxter, Connie Baxter Marlow, and Andrew Cameron Bailey. The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Groups of more than 8 attendees should call ahead to book a reservation.

Family-Friendly Activities in NoCo This Weekend 

Looking for activities aimed at the younger members of the family? Take the family to the Museum of Discovery or catch a movie in the park! The Loveland Public Library will be hosting a scavenger hunt for those who enjoy a challenge.

Sensory Scavenger Hunt

Children ages 11 and under are invited to explore this outdoor sensory scavenger hunt at the Loveland Public Library. Clues will be provided to find things that tickle their five senses. Participants will meet on the library lawn with their favorite adults and there is no reservation required or fee to join in on the fun. Just drop on by and start exploring!

Movies in the Park: Migration

Head over to Cattail Creek Golf Course in Loveland for Movies in the Park this Friday. Bring your comfiest blankets, chairs, and a tasty picnic dinner — just no alcohol or glass. Friday’s movie is Migration and is set to start at sunset, which is around 8:45 PM. This event is totally free, so invite all your friends and family. Free activities leading up to the movie include crafts from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and food trucks. The Rocky Mountain Raptor Program will also have a tent set up for families to interact with live birds!

Sky Planetarium Show

The Fort Collins Museum of Discover is excited about the upcoming planetarium show on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Presented by an astronomy volunteer, participants will learn how to spot their favorite constellations and hear the stories behind them. These shows are included with museum admission and open to all ages. After the show, take the time to explore the museum’s exhibits such as First Peoples, Music & Sound Lab, and The Tot Spot with a train table, water zone, and a giant crawl-through tree!

Dad Bod Summer: Dadcathlon

Make the trip to downtown Greeley to enjoy an afternoon of fun, laughter, and family as the community celebrates fathers of all shapes and sizes! The jam-packed event schedule will include thrilling competitions, as well as exclusive deals and family-friendly activities that celebrate fatherhood. The Dadcathlon will challenge dads to timed challenges, from stroller assembly races to diaper-changing sprints. The family fun zone will feature a dad dunk tank, a pie your pop booth, and a feed dad ice cream activity.
