Loveland, Colorado

Ah, Loveland. This little city of just over 50,000 residents is big in so many ways. It’s big in the arts. Loveland Academy of Fine Arts is here, a place where artists of all ages learn their craft. The Benson Park Sculpture Garden houses an impressive collection and you will find beautiful and interesting sculptures throughout Loveland. There is also a world renowned outdoor sculpture and art show each August, attended by 150,000 art lovers. Loveland is big on sculpture.

Any visitor to the thriving downtown area of Loveland, replete with examples of traditional Colorado architecture will know that Loveland is big on charm. With 25 city parks, including North Lake Park on the lovely and centrally located Lake Loveland, and Boyd Lake State Park, a boater/angler/water skiers paradise just outside of town, Loveland is big on recreation.

Loveland is big on beauty. It’s nestled against the Rocky Mountains and is a hop skip and a jump from Rocky Mountain National Park.

A low crime rate, a solid school system, quality health care, countless entertainment options and friendly Lovelanders mean Loveland is big on quality of life.

Education - The Thompson School District is one of the best in the state. Average ACT scores are above the state average. For higher education, Loveland is in close proximity to Ft. Collins (home of Colorado State University), Boulder (Colorado University) and Greeley (University of Northern Colorado).

Recreation - The city park system is extensive in Loveland. There are 25 city parks, plus 2 mountain parks nearby. If you like to hit the links, the northern Colorado region has experienced a golf boom in recent years and there are literally dozens of courses within an hours drive and three city owned golf courses in Loveland itself offer great challenges and great value. Tennis buffs, baseball players, and basketball players are also well represented in Loveland and will have no trouble finding a place to rally, swing in a batter’s cage, or shoot hoops.  City of Loveland Parks and Recreation Department

Loveland isn’t known as “The Gateway to the Rockies” for nothing. Skiers are no more than 3 hours away from world class slopes; hikers and campers have hundreds of miles of trails to choose from in Rocky Mountain national park (30 minutes away); anglers can cast their lies in countless, pristine mountain streams and nearby lakes.

Health Care - McKee Medical Center is the local hospital.

Employment - Major employers include Hewlett-Packard, Thompson School District, McKee Medical Center, and Wal-Mart.
